TANZANIA In 2002, Peter Twycross asked Tim and Ingrid Briscoe who were concluding their term as missionaries on Mafia Island to plant a Vineyard church in Dar es Salaam. This church has gone from strength to strength in the expatriate community and became a base for ministry into other parts of the country. There are now Vineyard churches in Iringa, a cluster of churches in and around Mbeya as well as another church in Dar es Salaam and an outreach on Pemba Island. Japheth a Kenyan pastor from Lunga Lunga is involved with church planting on the North Coast. In 2004, Gary and Judy Woods, previously members of the Karen Vineyard Church in Nairobi planted a Vineyard church in Arusha, where there are also other church planting opportunities being pursued, as is the case in Mwanza. |
