 Vineyard Values

The New Testament speaks clearly of Jesus being the foundation of the church. We desire that the biblical picture of the Gospel, of Jesus and His ministry should be our model. This is particularly important in a context where television evangelists, a multiplicity of books, traditional teachings and high-profile personalities are powerful models for many local churches. The question to ask is always, “Is the church like Jesus?”

Associations of Vineyard Churches around the world adopt core values.  These are not doctrines but help to express what they consider to be the important emphases of the Gospel in their culture at a particular time.

The following seven values are those that the Association of Vineyard Churches in East Africa has adopted. They are modeled on the six values of our brothers and sisters in Southern Africa .

1) We value a proper approach to the Bible

2) We value the Holy Spirit as the administrator of the church.

3) We value relationships, on an adult-to-adult basis

4) We value people's individuality, worth and freedom

5) We value the Kingdom of God , expressed in all forms of healing

6) We value a balanced and integrated approach to Christianity

7) We value a godly approach to money and stewardship
